Food makes such a difference to the residents' lives which is why the Riverstone Care Home is searching for a Kitchen Assistant to support the Chefs with providing deliciously nutritious meals for the residents to enjoy. This is a great opportunity for those who want to work on a casual ba sis and to get a foot in the door to the catering industry. We are also looking for a Laundry worker to join us on a casual basis.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities for Kitchen and Laundry
General kitchen duties (dishwashing and cleaning).
Assist with food preparation.
Adhere to Hygiene and food safety standards.
Maintain confidentiality.
Follow Health and Safety procedures.
Ensuring all care is taken with the residents' personal clothing and returned to owners.
Operating all laundry equipment as specified.
Meeting of daily schedule to keep laundry up to date and advising Manager of any issues that impact on the maintenance of this.
Maintaining clean/dirty delineation areas within the laundry.
Monitoring of linen supplies and advising line manager of replacement needs.
Ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
What About You
Previous experience working in a commercial laundry is preferred, however not essential as we will provide training.
Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm, strong empathy, and a passion for making a difference to our residents' lives.
You will be a team player, with the ability to work independently, and who is prepared to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into whatever needs to get done.
Have reliable transport or travel arrangements.
