Permanent, Full Time Position + Wellness Plan + EAP ServiceCompetitive Wage + Discounted Goods & ServicesCompass Group NZ are looking for a Permanent Full-Time Kitchen Assistant to work at our site in Gisborne.A Kitchen Hand is responsible for delivering quality catering services to our customers at schools or client sites daily.
This role requires a proactive approach to safety and the utilization of all safety equipment and procedures provided by Compass Group.Minimum of 30 hours a week, during education terms only.
You will have normal working hours in accordance with the roster during term time only.
Additional hours may be offered during term breaks.Our operation runs 5 days a week; you must be available to work a rotating roster, Monday to Friday.It would be beneficial if you are available to start immediately.Receiving delivered meals, including temperature monitoring, packing goods into chillers, and doing stock rotation.Storing and preparing goods for reheating/dispatch, including thawing and readying oven cassettes for hot meals.Conducting safety observations as well as temperature monitoring and recording.Dispatching and packing hot/cold meals into Cambro boxes once ready for dispatch, including loading temperature recordings into Cambro tests and sorting Cambro boxes.Cleaning ovens, oven trays, and premises.Maintaining clean & tidy dining/kitchen areas, including washing and mopping.Assisting with preparing and presenting food.Conducting thorough investigations into any food poisoning allegations and/or alleged incidents.Being a team player but also able to work autonomously.Having a clean Police Criminal Background check.Having experience in a similar role.Being flexible in approach and attitude.Having good communication skills and being hard-working.Being physically fit and reliable.Mo matou / About us:We are New Zealand's leading and largest provider of food and support services across multiple industries.Our industry sectors are managed by our sub-brands Eurest, Chartwells, Restaurant Associates, Medirest, and ESS.We specialize in turning ordinary acts of service into extraordinary experiential moments for our clients.
