We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Key Account Manager to join our Large Commercial Sales team. The Key Account Manager will proactively manage a portfolio of Commercial and Industrial customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, by converting opportunities to widen and deepen Mercury's relationship with new and existing customers, and to provide engaging and value-adding services. This role requires strong customer engagement, where the Key Account Manager will be considered a trusted advisor, managing all aspects of the customer relationship with Mercury. This role can be based in Auckland, Hamilton, or Tauranga and travel is required as part of this role. This role is a fixed-term position to cover parental leave until the end of February 2026. Key Responsibilities Include: Develop and maintain business relationships with all relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer's business. Attain the highest level of customer satisfaction, with a view to long-term retention whilst identifying new business opportunities. Undertake regular face-to-face interactions with customers and key stakeholders. Seek and execute all value-add opportunities, including advising on wholesale pricing trends and identifying network cost savings. Conduct periodic customer satisfaction surveys, to provide insights into areas where Mercury can enhance its service offering. Project manage all activities for the customer related to billing, metering, and site/connection changes. Proactively develop a strategic approach to each customer contract renewal - ensuring the appropriate price level and the overall customer engagement proposition are considered. We are looking for: At least 5 years working in a business-to-business sales or account management environment. Experience with complex customer negotiation. Experience in developing and managing project activity. Extremely strong written and oral communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to report on business performance and trends.
