Tataki Auckland Unlimited is currently seeking a Keeper (Primates) to join their team in Auckland, New Zealand. The ideal candidate must have the ability to carry out and supervise daily keeping duties to a high standard and provide all basic needs to the community members. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $55,182 to $62,237 per year. Candidates must have the ability to work 12 hours per day. Applicants must have a minimum of five years of professional experience in the best-practice care of primates. Qualifications for Keeper (Primates): Must hold a bachelor's degree and a Zoo Animal Management certificate. Ability to carry out and supervise daily keeping duties to provide high standard care. Monitor and assess animal behaviour and health. Problem-solving skills to address any issues related to animal welfare. Ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards and obtaining any necessary permits. Responsibilities for Keeper (Primates): Prepare and provide appropriate diets for primates based on their species, ages, and health. Ensure clean and safe living environments for primates, including enclosure cleaning, landscaping, and structural maintenance. Develop and implement enrichment programs to stimulate natural behaviours and promote mental and physical well-being. Experience in training and designing operant and behavioural enrichment programmes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in providing exciting and engaging animal encounters. Benefits: Competitive salary range.
