Kaiwhakahaere Rawa (Manager Operations)

Details of the offer

Great opportunity for someone with team leadership experience in property or facilities operations. Permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) based in Whangarei. Salary range $71,000 to $102,000 per annum plus great benefits. About us Te Wananga o Aotearoa (TWoA) is New Zealand's second largest tertiary institution and the world's largest indigenous tertiary educator, and we've been providing transformational education opportunities to New Zealanders for nearly 40 years. Our vision of 'Whanau transformation through education' drives our commitment to being at the forefront of tertiary education underpinned by Maori culture and values. Our kaimahi (employees) enjoy a whanau-friendly workplace where everyone is encouraged to be themselves. In return for their contribution, we offer kaimahi a range of benefits including: Free health and life insurance for permanent employees. Four extra annual leave days to celebrate Matariki and the Christmas/New Year season. Special leave available for sporting or cultural events. Tau Ora programmes that encourage wellbeing and inclusion. Free car parking. About the role Based from our Whangarei campus but responsible for a broad geographic region, the key focus of the Kaiwhakahaere Rawa is to provide facilities and property services leadership within their region, supported by an operations team and maintenance contractors who ensure our campuses are safe for our tauira and kaimahi, compliant, and fit for purpose. As a result, this role is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of people and facilities, relationship and contract management, and associated data collection and reporting. About you You'll bring to this role proven experience as a manager in the property/facilities management space with strengths in building and guiding cohesive teams and lasting relationships. You'll have a strong understanding of legislation and operating procedures, project management skills, and good data analysis and interpretation capability. Previous success in a similar role will back this up, and if you have experience managing teams across a broad geographical area, that would also be useful. A full NZ drivers licence is essential. The ability to understand and converse in te reo Maori and an excellent understanding of Maori values, culture and tikanga would be advantageous but isn't essential. Apply today! Have we outlined a role that matches your capabilities and aspirations, and a workplace that appeals? Applications close on 11 August 2024. A position description is available on our careers website.
