Mo te Pakihi | About the Organisation:

Te Hui Amorangi ki te Upoko o te Ika (Te Upoko) is the Maori Anglican Church of Te Upoko o te Ika. They serve whanau, hapu, iwi and communities in Wellington, Wairarapa, Kapiti, Horowhenua, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Whanganui and Taranaki.

Mo te turanga | About the Role:

Reporting to the Kaiwhakahaere Manager, you are the primary contact for Te Upoko kaimahi for all financial administration. You'll manage bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, and GST returns. Additionally, you will prepare financial reports, support the annual audit process, and help uphold Te Upoko's charity registration. Key responsibilities also involve overseeing creditor and debtor accounts, processing invoices, and delivering Xero training to Nga rohe vestries. This role maintains high standards of financial administration, while ensuring confidentiality.

This is a full time (32-40 hours per week), permanent position based in Te Papaioea Palmerston North.

Mou | About You:

You are an experienced financial administrator with a solid understanding of Xero. While experience with NZ Charities' financial reporting standards is a plus, it is not essential. You will demonstrate high initiative, can work independently, and thrive in a team setting. With excellent communication skills, you won't shy away from following up to receive the information you need or providing training to others when needed. You'll have strong attention to detail and are able to manage your time effectively. An understanding of te reo Maori is beneficial as is comfort working within a kaupapa Maori organisation.
