We are seeking a Kaituitui Tuara Taiao | Property Coordinator, based in our Rotorua office.
So that the foundations of ancestral lands may be solid, benefitting Maori from our past, present and future alike. This is Te Tumu Paeroa, guardian, support and advancer of the mana of Maori land everywhere.
Our role is to provide professional trustee services for Maori. We do this by carrying out the terms of trusts and ensuring the whenua is protected and enhanced for future generations.
The Kaituitui Tuara Taiao | Property Coordinator is responsible for supporting their Matanga Tuara Taiao | Property Specialist or Kaitohutohu Tuara Taiao | Property Advisor to manage a portfolio of trusts, maintaining an understanding of the affairs of each trust within the portfolio and ensuring high standards of service delivery.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
Develop and maintain a good understanding of the trusts within your portfolio, including information such as market rates for lease land within your region.Build effective relationships with your team, land tenants and key stakeholders.Support your Manager, Team Leader and team colleagues.Assist the Property Specialists/Advisors to ensure the delivery of lease outputs, including documentation and follow-up activities are timely, cohesive and of a high standard.Collaborate with the Property Specialists/Advisors, Trust Specialists, Rural Specialists and other key staff, to ensure all whenua and property related assets within the portfolio are maintained.Minimum Requirements:
Previous experience in a property coordinator role within a medium to large organisation.A good understanding of property, land leasing and Maori land ownership.A strong team player, who can collaborate and assist to help the team function well.Skills in building and fostering strong internal and external relationships.Good written and verbal communication skills.Good time management and organisation skills.Experience or an understanding of the rural sector is a plus.Nga Pae Mohiotanga Reo Maori: Pae Tahi- Te Whakahua | A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Maori (essential).Nga Pae Mohiotanga Tikanga Maori: Pae Tahi- No Ia Ra | An understanding and living of Tikanga Maori on a day-to-day level, for example, the removing of shoes before entering a whare, washing hands at the urupa and not sitting on tables (essential).This is an opportunity to join a supportive organisation that values work-life balance and career development.
