About the RoleTe Whanau o Waipareira is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of Maori across Tamaki Makaurau and beyond. Our spectrum of services is evolving, and this is where you fit in...As a Kaituhono within our Contact Centre, you will be the first point of contact for whanau, delivering phone-based support and guidance. You will connect with whanau to establish their unique needs and ensure that they have access to the right services, at the right time. Your listening skills will be put to the test as you tautoko whanau through complicated matters, ensuring mana is upheld with each korero.This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity with a start date in January 2025, and an end date of June 2025.Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage inbound and outbound communications, including face-to-face engagements as necessary.
Advocate for whanau with various government agencies, ensuring they receive their entitlements and rights.
Utilize the Whanau Ora Practice model and Mataora assessment and planning framework to support whanau in achieving their self-determined aspirations.
Build and maintain robust relationships with whanau, community services, and other external stakeholders.
Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and learning to continuously improve service delivery.
Your Skills and Experience
Strong commitment to Te Reo me ona tikanga.
A valid Full NZ Drivers' Licence.
Experience working in customer service/contact centre.
Experience working alongside whanau from all walks of life.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fundamental computer skills and confidence speaking on the phone.
Ability to listen, think on your feet, and answer whanau queries.
Ability to identify complex situations and create referrals for support.
