Job DetailsThe Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand has an opportunity for a senior position to support the work of Te Matawaka, the Green Party's Maori and Pasifika Caucus. As Kaitohu Te Matawaka you will advise the Green Party Co-leaders and MPs on kaupapa Maori political issues.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain and report against the Te Matawaka strategyWork with the Leadership team and Caucus to plan Green Party issues/portfolio campaigns throughout the term, ensuring strong kaupapa Maori elements are incorporated into priority campaignsOversee te Tiriti o Waitangi and/or kaupapa Maori-based advice on major campaignsDevelop and maintain relationships with key external organisations, particularly Maori organisationsEnsure Te Matawaka MPs are supported to fulfil their parliamentary duties with a particular focus on te taha Maori, including duties relating to legislation and select committeesBased in our Wellington Parliamentary offices on the Parliament precinct, you will be an active member of the senior management team.

The nature of this role means that some flexibility in hours, including travel and occasional weekend work, will also be required. This is an events-based, fixed-term role.
The appointing salary for this role is $120,000 - $138,000 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience.
