Permanent, Full-time Monday to Friday 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE) An opportunity has arisen within Te Wahanga Hauora Maori (The Maori Health Service) of Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Maui, Hawke's Bay as a Kaitakawaenga (Maori Cultural Advisor). In this role, the successful applicant will provide faultless support for Maori patients and their whanau within the hospital wards in collaboration with the wider Kaitakawaenga team. There will also be provision to provide cultural support in all relevant activities across the Te Whatu Ora, Te Matau a Maui, Hawke's Bay that recognises and supports the delivery of the Hawkes Bay health sector vision and values. As well as working with the wider Kaitakawaenga team, there is a need to work independently, have excellent communication skills, have good time management, have a good knowledge base in health and have a good understanding of the local Maori community. A reasonably good knowledge of te reo Maori and Kahungunutanga would also be an advantage. Located in the sunny Hawkes Bay we live in pure paradise.
