Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Middle leadershipEnglish, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The arts3-4MU + 2MMAWe are seeking an experienced learning coach (teacher) to join either our exceptional localised, connected curriculum or our relational learning, wellbeing, pastoral care middle leadership teams as a kainga designer or learning designer.What is a kainga designer?Kainga designers (KDs) work collaboratively to support the implementation and delivery of our school-wide hauora and social/emotional, relational and academic mentoring curriculum called MAC (mentor/advisor/coach). In addition to these curriculum foci, our KDs also lead the wellbeing and pastoral structures supporting 12-15 learning coaches (teachers) and approximately 220 learners belonging to their kainga (home within the school). There are some similarities but also many important distinctions between this role and the roles of dean or whanau leader applicants may be familiar with from other secondary settings.What is a learning designer?Learning designers (LDs) work collaboratively to support the implementation and delivery of our school-wide local curriculum. These include, big picture, connected oversight for literacy & numeracy labs (explicit coaching and independent learning habits in reading, writing and mathematics), whanau ora (purposeful movement; aspirational personal and physical development pursuits) and our transdisciplinary, authentic inquiries and project based learning. In addition to these curriculum responsibilities, our LDs also lead the professional learning (learning design & pedagogies) in partnership with our kainga designers alongside shared leadership of 12-15 learning coaches and approximately 220 learners belonging to a kainga (home within the school).State your passions, strengths, and interests for either role.
