Kaihaka (Guitarist)

Are you passionate about sharing te ao maori with the world?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our kapa haka ropu, Te Pito Whenua, and perform at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
We need a tane who is a guitar hero to support our summer Hangi & Concert and daily performance schedule!
This position is on a fixed-term part-time basis between Nov 2024 - March 2025.
Must: Play guitar competently & quick to learn new brackets Be available to start immediately Enjoy sharing their knowledge and stories through performance to a wide range of audiences (schools, ambassadors, ministers, tourists etc) Have previous experience in kapa haka Be engaging & confident Have experience with mau rakau (tane) is a bonus Be available to work weekends and evenings (for our hangi & concert nights) If you have what we are looking for we want to hear from you!
