Full time Add expected salary to your profile for insights Nga Waihua o Paerangi Trust (formerly known as Ngati Rangi Trust) is currently seeking applicants for the role of Kaiawhina Kaikaute / Assistant Accountant. The primary purpose of the role is to provide senior financial level support to the Finance and Administration functions of the Ngati Rangi group and its subsidiary boards. The role will focus on Supporting the Pou Whirinaki-Pae Whakato to provide a high level of service to the Ngati Rangi group boards and subsidiaries. Work across day-to-day accounting functions and on exciting projects. Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable. Manage all contracts and reporting. Provide timely, accurate, insightful, and reliable information and support decision making, monitor performance and provide business support to management. Ability to contribute positively to the team culture, work effectively with cross functional teams and develop and build great working relationships across a wide audience. We are looking for someone who has: Have at least 2 years experience in a similar role (accounting or finance) and a relevant tertiary qualification in business, finance or accounting. Strong communicator and collaborator with the ability to problem solve and attention to detail. Proficient with Xero accounting package, Smartly Payroll and MS Excel. Excellent planning and time management skills, ability and flexibility to meet stringent deadlines and under pressure. Experience managing work in a demanding, changing work environment. Capacity to provide sound advice to support and make informed decisions and minimise risk. Energy for developing, coordinating and managing contractual arrangements for the Trust. Extensive knowledge of relevant standards, principles, policies, systems, processes, procedures, guidelines, practice and regulation This is a permanent, full-time Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm (40 hours per week) however availability outside of these hours is required to fulfil the requirements of the position; including but not limited to some weekend and evening attendance at hui.
