Job Description - Kaiawhina (Community Support Worker) (HAU01990)
Do you want to make a difference in supporting our tamariki and community to thrive and flourish? We are currently looking for a Kaiawhina to join our dedicated and committed Oral Health Team/ Service. 
This position focuses on:
· Promoting the kaupapa of "Good Oral Health for All for Life"
· Working as 'one team' across the life span to achieve equity 
In this role, you get to:
· Understand our tamariki and whanau story and walk alongside them to achieve better oral health outcomes - in a way that makes sense to them, by lifting their mana and empowering them to make decisions that have an impact on their life now and for the future
· Connect and engage with other services to better support our tamariki in their oral health journey and break down system and process barriers
· Is caring and compassionate
· Basic knowledge of Te Reo Maori 
· Basic Knowledge of health issues affecting tamariki, rangatahi and whanau in our community
· Previous experience in working in the community/established local relationships 
· Demonstrates open, friendly and professional communication
· Demonstrates skill in Microsoft Office systems and programmes
· A 'whatever it takes' attitude
