We are searching for our next Manager, Commercial and Procurement to support Te Puni Kokiri in accessing goods, services and solutions in a cost-effective manner.
Te whai wahitanga | The opportunity Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, Property and Procurement this Manager has leadership of a small team of three friendly, hardworking kaimahi.
As a unit they provide options, drive positive purchasing behaviours within the Ministry and ensure we are purchasing and negotiating through a public value lens.
Administering and promoting the Te Puni Kokiri preferred provider programme, promoting good practice contract management across our Puni Carrying out spend and value for money analysis and preparing reports for our executive leadership team.
Identifying risks and suggesting mitigation strategies with the procurement process Ensuring that decision making considers public value and progressive procurement as part of its core business Managing the tender process, contract negotiation process and monitoring related activity.
The Manager, Commercial and Procurement is adaptable and agile, ensuring they, and their team can respond to the needs of the Ministry.
The appointment range for this role is between $133,248 and $166,560 per annum and the salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
Viewing procurement as more than transactional, you take a relationship, solutions and customer focused approach to your craft.
Investigative by nature, you know when to pursue alternative solutions, against relying on established norms.
Possess the skills and experience as outlined in the Position Description, including negotiating, contract law and management, and understanding risks.
Understand the machinery of government with a high degree of political nous.
Relationship driven, take a wide view lens of procurement, looking at public value and long-term solutions as part of your process.
Are comfortable working in a te ao Maori environment and where tikanga is observed.
Familiarity working with and engaging Maori owned businesses is advantageous.
