Community Development (Community Services & Development) Full time We do health differently at Tui Ora. As a holistic kaupapa Maori (Maori approach) primary care organisation which has been serving the Taranaki community for more than 25 years, we provide a wide range of health and social wellbeing services for our whanau (families). We follow a proven Maori model of care that puts whanau at the centre, empowering them to set their own life goals and create a pathway to reaching them. Our experienced and multi-disciplinary teams walk beside them every step of the way. Our services include two GP practices across two locations in New Plymouth and Whaitara, a community nursing team made up of long-term health, diabetes, cancer, child and respiratory specialists, mental health and addiction services, social service navigator support, alcohol and drug recovery, and youth services to help whanau address life issues that may impact their overall health and wellbeing. Mo te turanga | About the role The Kaiarahi Heartlands' Coordinator will administer and manage the Heartlands service provided to the Opunake and coastal Taranaki community. The primary responsibilities will be to co-ordinate services provided through Heartlands, including referring people to appropriate agencies, and making appointments for whanau, where needed. Kia ekena a angitu | To promote success in this role, you will have Previous experience in office coordination Previous experience in working with health and social service clients and their Whanau is preferred A business, Whanau Ora and/or health administration or other relevant qualification preferred A minimum of Level 4 Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint) Customer service focus that includes a calm, unflappable personality and unfazed by challenges that may arise The ability to demonstrate practical understanding of the aspirations and challenges facing Maori communities The ability to understand and form appropriate professional relationships with Whanau Established community networks and awareness of Whanau, Hapu and Iwi development Previous experience working with a kaupapa Maori organisation, Runanga or Hapu is preferred Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team Excellent organisation skills and able to take responsibility for completion of tasks. A strong work ethic, demonstrated by a high level of integrity, reliability, efficiency, and self-management Experience in applying tikanga Maori as it applies in the role (desirable) A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.
