This is a permanent, full-time position ( hours per week)starting in January 2025.
As a Kaiako,you will be responsible for guiding tauira through their learning journey bydeveloping lesson plans, delivering course material, and creating an inclusivelearning environment.
You will ensure tauira needs are met by fosteringacademic growth through assessments and responsive teaching practices, whileadhering to marau requirements.
Collaboration and the use of indigenousteaching practices are key to ensuring tauira success and maintaining thecultural integrity of the learning experience.Mou | About youThe idealperson will be skilled in fostering a supportive learning environment and dedicated to tauira success.You willalso bring with you:A Bachelorin Matauranga Maori (Level 7) related to taonga/tikanga/NZhistory/anthropology.
Other qualifications will be considered, alongsidedemonstrated lived experienceDiploma inAdult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5 or equivalent)Full andcurrent New Zealand Drivers' License3+ years'experience working with iwi, hapu, or marae projects3+ years'experience teaching adultsAsa kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture andtikanga) will be key.Tonoa i tenei ra!
