About Us
For over 30 years, Ngati Hine Health Trust has been a leader in oranga (wellbeing) in Northland. We offer a range of services including health, disability support, mental health & addictions, primary care, justice, corrections, housing, education, social services, reo irirangi Maori, and Whanau Ora. Our presence spans Kawakawa, Whangarei, Kaikohe, Pakaraka, Moerewa, and Kaeo.
The Role: Kaiako Extraordinaire
As a Kaiako, you'll use your positive energy to build strong relationships with tamariki, their whanau, and our team. You'll facilitate and promote positive learning experiences underpinned by Kaupapa Maori theory in our award-winning indoor and outdoor environments, purpose-built to stimulate and nurture the natural curiosities of our tamariki.
Your Mission
Nurture and Inspire : Create engaging learning experiences that connect tamariki to their Ngati Hine whakapapa.
Build Relationships : Foster strong, positive connections with tamariki, whanau, and colleagues.
Promote Wellbeing : Support the growth and development of tamariki in a culturally rich environment.
About You
Qualifications : Teaching qualification in Early Childhood Education or Primary (Level 7).
Registration : Current Practicing Registration issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Experience : Proven experience working with tamariki.
Cultural Competence : Deep understanding of Maori culture, values, tikanga, and te reo Maori.
Safety First : Ability to pass a safety check under the Children's Act 2014, as the role is classified as a Core Worker.
