Kaiako – OED and Supporting Subjects Nelson College for Girls is in the heart of beautiful Nelson. We are proud of the many successes of our akonga and our arahi programme. We are seeking an enthusiastic kaiako with a genuine passion for outdoor education. Ideally, this person will be able to work with our TiC of OED to strengthen the subject area.
Applicants should be able to connect easily with young people and make learning relevant to life. Excellent communication skills are important as is the need to be flexible, creative and organised.
As a classroom practitioner, you will have experience with providing rich learning opportunities at both junior and senior level with demonstrated practice of high expectations for akonga and culturally responsive pedagogies. A willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school is essential.
Please ensure you state any outdoor qualifications (e.g. NZOIA) and other areas in which you are willing to teach in your application.
Applicants must have NZ Teacher Registration. This position is to commence at the beginning of 2025.
