Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 akonga (students) at any point in time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3.
Our akonga are at the centre of all we do. We are privileged to support many akonga on their learning journey, including many at-risk akonga.
Our vision is to enable our akonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities. Ki te ti, ki te ta, ki te katoa – Anytime, anywhere, anyone.
We are looking for a creative, innovative Primary or Secondary Kaiako (teacher) who's experienced in Learning Support to join our team based in Nelson, Wellington, Palmerston North, or New Plymouth.
Kaiako at Te Kura engage with our akonga (students) online and face-to-face at huinga ako (advisories) and events, and also work onsite with colleagues in our regional offices. Te Kura aims to provide flexible working arrangements, so Kaiako are able to request to work from home for up to two days per week.
It is essential that you have a sound knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and assessment requirements and are willing to learn, innovate, work collaboratively, and build effective relationships. You'll be future-oriented and understand how the use of technology, together with your enthusiasm, vision, and commitment, improves educational outcomes for all our students, particularly Maori and Pasifika learners.
