This is a permanent, full-time ( hours per week) role that starts inJanuary 2025.
As Kaiako, you will plan, prepare, deliver, and motivate tauiralearning.
An essential part of this role involves undertaking rangahau(research) activities that inform teaching practice and maintain a high-qualityprogramme.
Mou (About you)The ideal Kaiako will be someone who has a passion for tauira successthrough education.
The Kaiako mustbe able to understand Social Work from a Maori and non-Maori perspective.
You will need to have the ability to develop anddispense Maori bodies of knowledge contextualized to social work practice,knowledge of bicultural frameworks, and the ability to plan and deliver them.You will bring with you:AMaster's degree (L9) in social work/related subject or be enrolledand part way through completingNewZealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) orequivalent, or be willing to complete during the first yearof employmentHave a Full and current NZ Driver LicenceHave a Clean Police RecordHave Full and current registration with the NZ Social Work RegistrationBoard prior to employmentBe able to demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of te reo and tikangaMaori within a bicultural frameworkProven adult teaching experiencePlease note that this position is classed as a CoreWorker under the Vulnerable Children's Act and will need to pass a safetycheck, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014As akaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture andtikanga) will be key.Tonoa i tenei ra!
