We deliver care across all settings, at home, inpatient, paediatrics, and aged residential care. We have a holistic approach and offer medical and nursing care, counselling, social work, massage therapy, music therapy, spiritual care and much more to support whaanau. Our services cover the Waikato, and we are supported by a huge team of volunteers and our wonderful retail kaimahi who turn donated goods into funds for our service.This role has been created to support, develop, and deliver Hospice Waikato's ongoing programmes focussing on actively supporting the growth of knowledge, understanding and application of te reo Maaori, maatauranga Maaori and tikanga.As our Kaiaarahi, you will work organisation wide with our retail teams, support staff, clinical staff, and our volunteers. You would be joining our Learning and Development Team who deliver education internally as well as to community groups and primary health care service providers.What you will need to bring to the role:We're looking for someone to have energy, enthusiasm, and passion and to have:Positive stakeholder relationships. To build and maintain these and to have effective networks across organisations, marae, and local iwi.Sound knowledge of tikanga MaaoriConversational fluency with te reo MaaoriA qualification in Maaori, Social Sciences, Adult Education or equivalent knowledge and skills4-5 years' proven experience working with Maaori communities.Have effective communication with strong engaging presentation skills.Cultural leadership skills with the ability to influence and encourage others, and be comfortable collaborating, mentoring, and coaching.A full NZ Drivers' LicenceWant to korero?  Contact Kay Syminton, Learning & Development Team Leader, at ****** or 027 279 2601 to discuss any aspects of the role.
