Primary and Intermediate (Years 1–8) / Kura Tuatahi, Certificated Teacher
We are excited to provide an opportunity for an exceptional teacher to join us permanently here at Te Kura Tuatahi o Kukutaruhe/Bankwood School.
We are looking for a culturally responsive and reflective kaiako to join our hardworking and creative team in 2025. We are nestled in the heart of Kirikiriroa, with a diverse demographic including 58% Maori and 17% Pasifika with a roll of 350 students.
As a kura, we have a strong focus on structured literacy (5th year), DMIC mathematics (4th year), Apple technology (1:1 student devices in middle and senior school), specialty science/enviro/HPE classes, PB4L and restorative practices, sports and cultural groups (kapa haka, Pasifika) with a strong focus on developing our te reo Maori capability across our whole kura. The successful candidate will be well-resourced and supported throughout their time with us.
Of paramount importance to our kura is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and whanau. We offer professional development in Apple Teacher certification, PB4L & restorative practice methodology, structured literacy, DMIC maths, and te reo Maori development using the Te Ataarangi methodology.
