The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new generation of science leaders. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant & Food Research) and disciplines, leading a "NZ Inc" approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.We are seeking a high-achieving Junior Research Officer to work on a Riddet Institute Centre of Research Excellence funded project aimed at understanding the physicochemical, nutritional, textural, and digestion properties of foods to join the team based in Palmerston North.The successful candidate will have completed a postgraduate qualification in food technology and nutrition or related disciplines with demonstrated experience in food structure characterisation, food chemistry, and food digestion with a focus on complex foods such as milk, cheese, etc. They will also demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving techniques, as well as high motivation and enthusiasm to work with an interdisciplinary team in food sciences.The salary will be reflective of experience and will be in the range of Junior Research Officer (65,296 - $70,899), for a full time (37.5h p/w) fixed term period of one year.Your application should include: (1) a copy of your CV, (2) the names of at least two referees, (3) your university transcripts and (4) a covering letter that describes why you are the best candidate for the appointment.
