Job Description: Junior Civil Quantity SurveyorPosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented junior Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of civil construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of civil construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness.Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.Measurement and Valuation: Conduct accurate measurements and valuations of work completed on-site. Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications.Cost Control and Reporting: Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying and addressing any variances. Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to project managers and stakeholders.Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial and contractual risks.Procurement: Manage the procurement process, including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure timely delivery of materials and services.Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met within budget and on schedule.Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, regulatory, and quality standards.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field - an Honors Degree preferred.Some experience in quantity surveying within the civil construction industry.Project management knowledge from tender to completed project.Knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and financial management.Knowledge of relevant legislation within the civils/building industry.Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Excel).Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team onsite in Auckland CBD.Ability to work in New Zealand.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.Collaborative and supportive work environment.Involvement in exciting and challenging construction projects.If you are a motivated and skilled Civil Quantity Surveyor who can work in New Zealand legally and is looking for a small company with growth opportunities in the construction industry, we encourage you to apply.
