Russell Gordon Contracting (RGC) primarily is the culmination of a merger of the AJ Russell Brick & Block Layer, Aotea Paving (Russell) and PMG (Gordon) family construction businesses, with a proud history and track record built over 5 decades.
The successful integration of these adjacent businesses has created a multiskilled and highly capable RGC team. The core team competency being the delivery of Concrete and Masonry Structures alongside complimentary capability in the delivery of residential and commercial earthworks, drainage and piling.
RGC since its inception in 2013 has grown significantly to a team of circa 150 strong and operating across the greater Auckland area, and northern BOP & Waikato provinces.

Senior Project Manager
The Role
The individual appointed to the Junior Estimator / QS role will be a strong, results driven individual and enjoys being part of a fun, effective and successful team.

The fit of the candidate within our team is paramount and as such the level responsibility within the role can be melded somewhat to achieve the best mix 'people fit' and experience.
It may suit either a recently graduated QS or an existing junior QS seeking to broaden their experience. Industry work experience is not a prerequisite but rather a desire to learn and be part of a tight and successful team.
Duties:
Review weekly job reports in conjunction with the Senior Estimator / QS and action outputs assigned to you.
Participate in Tender Handover Meetings and the transfer of all pertinent data and metrics to the delivery team.
Liaising with and maintaining positive relationships with all suppliers, customers, stakeholders and RGC personnel.
Provide commercial and administration support to our 'hands on' site leaders in a timely and in a manner easy to understand and interpret.
Meeting Key Performance Objectives of the projects pertaining to Contract administration.
Contribute to our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and 'Broader Outcomes' commitments.
Complete tender quantity take-offs and first principle based pricing.
Build sustainable, win-win relationships with all those people you interact with as an agent of RGC.
Skills and Experience necessary:
Must have or is close to completing a Construction Management or QS qualification.
A work history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, being a self starter and a desire for professional growth.
Be comfortable with working in a fast moving work environment.
Preferably, civil, and structural concrete centric construction experience.
Commercially astute.
Competent on full MS Office suite.
Excellent communication skills, willingness, and ability to have courageous conversations.
