Nimbl Group Ltd provides three distinct services to the commercial construction market. Our Passive Fire division specializes in the application of passive fire solutions in commercial construction projects; our Insulation division specializes in the installation of mechanical, HVAC, and hydraulic insulation and our Distribution division supplies top quality and unique commercial plumbing products to the market. We have teams in Christchurch and Wellington and are known for delivering quality projects on time and in budget.
We have a great opportunity for a Junior Estimator/QS to join our team and play a pivotal role in the commercials of our Passive Fire & Insulation divisions.
The role is varied and includes the following responsibilities:
Completing take-offs, schedules, measures for Passive Fire projects (including External Façade detailing, structural steel elements, building services, seismic requirements).
Preparing tenders and quotes.
Preparing progress claims.
Managing contractual requirements.
Working out solutions with project teams.
This is a great opportunity for you to grow & gain experience in this space and work closely with the Commercial team and other senior team members, contributing to our ongoing success and growth.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following qualifications:
The ability to read and understand construction drawings and documentation (tender proposals, fixed price submissions, variations, claim preparation).
Understanding of building elements/service types and materials.
Have gained or be working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying/Estimating.
An understanding of the solutions that need to be adopted (or the willingness and ability to learn), i.e., what type of material will be used for specific passive fire solutions/penetrations.
Passive Fire experience would be ideal, but not completely necessary.
A strong understanding of the Construction Contracts Act.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Excel experience, use of estimating/take-off.
