A newly created role focusing on OWNERSHIP of all financial data, someone who can dial in our forecasting, reporting and accurate budgeting as we continue to scale and grow quickly. 
The Professional Builder team is looking for a Junior Accountant to help shape the financial backbone of our operations. This role is ideal for an accountant excited to handle daily financial tasks, improve process structure, and support the finance team's strategic goals.
The Junior Accountant will play a vital role in managing day-to-day financial activities, supporting payroll, maintaining accurate records, and helping to improve finance processes. Reporting directly to the CEO & General Manager, this role offers hands-on experience with both operational and strategic finance functions.
Key Responsibilities: Play a leading role in shaping the finance function of the future within the divisionBring immediate financial rigor to the division by presenting P&L and budget analysis every monthImprove business case creation and commercial insights for future investment decision-makingDrive financial reporting Act as a true business partner and work closely with the leadership teamLead a team of finance assistants Assist with company wide finance transformationPrior experience using Xero is essentialMonitor daily cash flow and transfer funds as needed for tax and profit accounts.Reconcile bank transactions and oversee Xero accounts.Manage payroll processing and new staff setup in the payroll system.Expense management Prepare Profit & Loss statements, update cash flow forecasts, and analyze budgets with department heads.Ensure accuracy in tax and payroll processing, reconcile feeds, and manage team expense claims.Collaborate on cost-cutting initiatives and provide financial insights.Support end-of-year account closure Assist with shareholder reports, payment links, refunds, and director drawings.Prepare data reports for annual planning and assist with special finance projects. What You'll Need: Qualified Chartered Accountant in New Zealand Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Previous accounting experience Complete proficiency in using xeroStrong proficiency in google sheetsHighly organized with excellent attention to detail and a proactive work style.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.Organization: Detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple projects and stay organized.Proactivity: A self-starter attitude and the drive to take ownership of your projects.Who Are We?
