Journeys Customer Service Safety Network Officer As a key member of the Journeys Team, the Customer Service Safety Network Officer plays a vital frontline role, delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves receiving and managing requests for service enquiries from the community, ensuring each is followed through to completion. You will gather information from customers, conduct site visits to investigate issues, and collaborate with the Journeys team to discuss compliant and safety-focused solutions. Your work will help address community concerns while prioritising safety and quality in all outcomes.
This is a fixed term maternity leave cover role, until July 2025.
You'll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council's work.
Key Responsibilities Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to Council's customers/stakeholders.
Ensure most enquiries are completed at first point of contact whenever possible in a timely, professional, friendly, and empathetic manner.
Support the Journeys team by conducting site assessments identifying safety improvement opportunities and participating in road safety audits.
Ensure all information is kept current and accessible, including the knowledge base system, pamphlets, forms, fact sheets, and Internet.
Actively keep up to date with Council activities and notifications, to be better informed for the customer.
Provide administrative support to the Journeys Team when required.
Minimum Requirements Currently working towards a diploma-level qualification in marketing, business management, or a related field.
Relevant work experience in a similar role.
A valid New Zealand full driver's licence.
Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure, especially when handling high-priority matters.
Experience in adapting to changing circumstances with flexibility and ease.
A strong customer service ethic, with a focus on delivering excellent support.
Proficient and confident in using computers, database programs, Excel, new technology, and social media platforms.
Flexible on start and finish times.
