Our vision is to promote, grow and sustain Maori language, knowledge, and culture, according to tikanga Maori practice.This is an exciting time to be part of Maori and indigenous scholarship, and our success relies on the excellence of our people and our connection to the communities that we serve.We are seeking applications for a Lecturer – Wai Ora located in Whakatane to provide Mataatua iwi, hapu and whanau with an opportunity to have the Certificate in Wai Ora level 3 and level 4 (6-month) programmes delivered in their rohe.The programmes are under-pinned by matauranga Maori and have four core areas of study including whakapapa of bodies of water surrounding a marae or other communities, strategies to protect and manage freshwater and marine ecosystems, contemporary theories and practices to sustain freshwater and marine ecosystems for future generations, and the rights, interests and responsibilities of marae, hapu and iwi regarding freshwater and marine bodies of water.The 6-month programmes have intakes in February and July of each year.
