We are seeking an Iwi Engagement and Events Manager to join our dynamic team at Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and implementation of iwi-focused communications strategies and events, ensuring that our Ngai Tahu identity and values are deeply embedded in everything we do.
Reporting to the Group Head Te Uruki, you will play a key role in enriching the lives of current and future generations of Ngai Tahu Whanui.Te Arotahi Matua - What is the primary focus of this role?This role is centred on developing and executing strategic communications and events that resonate with Ngai Tahu Whanui.
Working closely with the Tuhiraki and Kaunuku leadership teams, you will provide expert guidance on iwi kaupapa, protocols, and cultural contexts, ensuring that all engagements and events uphold the mana of Ngai Tahu.Your responsibility extends to fostering strong relationships with Ngai Tahu Holdings, its subsidiaries, Papatipu Runanga, and other stakeholders.
As a champion of Ngai Tahutanga, you will lead initiatives that promote continuous improvement and innovation in how we engage with whanau and the wider iwi.You'll also oversee the effective management of all stakeholder events where Ngai Tahu is involved, ensuring that they align with our cultural values and strategic goals.
Your ability to communicate clearly and build strategic relationships will be crucial in supporting the Te Runanga events team and enhancing our corporate sponsorship efforts.Strong understanding of Ngai Tahutanga, values, and identity.Advanced fluency in te reo Maori and familiarity with the Treaty of Waitangi.Demonstrated experience in event management, including planning and execution.Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Leadership experience in complex and culturally sensitive environments.Embraces and thrives on promoting a safe cultural environment.Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu works on behalf of the iwi to manage the collective assets of Ngai Tahu Whanui, to promote and ensure their interests and aspirations are met though representational activities, protecting the rights of Ngai Tahu Whanui and delivering social and cultural programs.
