Napier City Council seeks a proficient IT Support Engineer to join the Information Services Team following an internal promotion.
As an IT Support Engineer, your primary duties involve addressing inquiries and aiding end-users of the corporate IT network, delivering first-tier and some second-tier user assistance for IT concerns as required. Additionally, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of Council's IT assets across their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities: Prioritise and diagnose incidents, investigating their causes and striving for resolution, escalating unresolved issues. Respond to a wide array of service requests, offering information to fulfill requests or facilitate resolution promptly. Provide initial investigation and diagnosis, promptly assigning unresolved issues as necessary. Install or uninstall hardware and/or software following provided instructions and tools, including client handover. Provision/install, configure, and maintain infrastructure services and components. Monitor, measure, and report on infrastructure load, performance, and security events, identifying and contributing to resolving operational issues. Execute agreed-upon operational procedures, including backup/restore, utilising provided infrastructure tools and scripts. To thrive in this role, candidates should possess: A relevant tertiary diploma at level 5 or 6 in computer studies or equivalent industry experience of 5 years. Five years of prior experience in Help Desk operations. Operational familiarity and general user comprehension of MS Desktop operating systems and Office suite. Proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and mobile equipment efficiently. Experience managing users in O365 and Active Directory. Knowledge of network technologies (LAN/WAN). This is a permanent full time position, working Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
