Details of the offer

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Are you ready to make an impact in healthcare by supporting critical laboratory operations? The Automation and Support Services (ALSS) team at Te Toka Tumai, Auckland, is seeking an IT Super User to join us. Our department oversees the Core Laboratory Automation (chemistry), Specimen Services, National and International Sendaways areas. We work with Roche automated instrumentation and collaborate with all LabPLUS departments, operating around the clock to ensure the smooth triaging and analysis of patient samples and test results.

As the IT Super User, you'll play a central role in managing all IT needs for ALSS. You'll be the first point of contact for computer-related issues, working closely with Lab Information Systems, the IT Helpdesk, and external vendors. This role requires you to ensure IT compliance with LabPLUS accreditation standards, maintain middleware, manage data extraction, and oversee Delphic maintenance.

If you have a proactive approach to IT management, a focus on quality and service delivery, and a desire to contribute to meaningful improvements in healthcare, we want you on our team! Join ALSS and make a difference through technology and innovation in laboratory services.

Nga Pukenga Motuhake | Important Skills

If you're applying for the Department Computer Super User position, you should ideally be a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a medical laboratory; you will hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate. You will also have relevant experience and skills to perform the tasks outlined above. Experience working in project teams, managing workflows and maintaining documentation would be an advantage.

This role requires a high level of communication skills, knowledge of automated biochemistry processes and the ability to train staff. You must have a strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and a can-do attitude to work in a fast-paced and busy environment. You will lead by example and your values should align closely to the Te Toka Tumai Values.

We are a value-based and inclusive organisation that is committed to delivering the best health outcomes for our total population. To do this we are working hard to develop a robust and capable workforce that reflects the population we serve. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds with the necessary capability and who share our values to apply and would greatly value seeing more applicants from our Maori & Pacific communities.
