Location: 42 Don Street, InvercargillDepartment: Information ServicesEmployment type: Permanent Full TimeAbout the role:We're looking for a customer-service superstar and information technology guru to join our information technology team. Reporting to the information technology team leader, your responsibilities will be twofold – taking ownership for identifying, troubleshooting and resolving IT related incidents and requests along with ensuring our information technology service management (ITSM) processes align with information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) best practice.Key responsibilities:Triage and proactively allocate tickets across the team to meet service and severity levels.Provide first/second level support for users relating to desktops, applications, email, internet, print and mobile device services, network and remote support, asset management and user access.Ensure ITSM tools are configured and maintained to support ITIL processes and improvements effectively.Document root cause analysis of recurring incidents and problems to identify and implement preventative measures.Provide regular reporting including a review of overdue service tickets, problems/trends and other key ITSM metrics.Provide training and guidance to the service desk and other IS staff on ITIL processes and best practices.Develop sound collaborative relationships across the organisation to ensure proactive solutions are delivered.Minimum Requirements:To be considered for this role you will need previous experience in a similar role, a relevant university degree, an ITIL foundation certificate and a full driver's licence.About Council:With 11% of the total land area of New Zealand, including Fiordland National Park and Stewart Island, The Southland District Council has the largest land area to manage of any territorial authority.
