Are you driven by a passion for cybersecurity, network systems, and cloud services? Join UCG as an IT Infrastructure Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in implementing and maintaining the technology infrastructure that supports our business operations. Reporting to the Head of IT & Business Intelligence, you'll ensure our hardware, software, network resources, and cloud services are secure, efficient, and reliable.
This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) based in our Penrose office in Auckland. If you're proactive, result driven, and committed to building a safe, resilient platform, we'd love to hear from you.
Salary range: $90,000 to $100,000 per annum
Ko to mahi - What you will do.
Champion our IT systems by educating end-users on their value and promoting best practices.
Identify and act on opportunities to enhance system use and uptake, collaborating with the Technology Centre.
Design and implement IT infrastructure solutions, including hardware, software, networking, and cloud services.
Serve as the technical lead for implementing and maintaining cyber security, monitoring and responding to potential threats.
Manage and resolve server, network, and backup issues to ensure system reliability.
Set up, configure, and commission new IT equipment, software, and updates as needed.
Communicate service interruptions and work to ensure minimal disruption to our workforce.
Support the Head of IT & Business Intelligence with cyber security protocols, including Darktrace and Sophos End Point Protection.
Ensure compliance with ISO27001 and other information security standards.
Proactively monitor and manage IT infrastructure risks with a focus on safeguarding privacy and confidentiality.
Manage the IT provisioning process for new employees, setting up equipment and access levels in line with company policy.
Maintain an accurate IT asset register, ensuring efficient inventory management and asset audits.
Collaborate with offshore IT Engineers for seamless onboarding and user support.
Assist in maintaining UCG's ISO27001 accreditation by supporting audits, coordinating corrective actions, and keeping pace with evolving requirements.

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a similar field.
A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar role.
Previous experience with Fortinet Firewall.
Previous experience deploying and managing Microsoft Azure resources.
Previous experience with Darktrace cybersecurity platform.
Previous experience with Sophos End Point Protection.
Previous exposure to Nokia OLT and 3CX experience is desirable.
Proficient with Windows Server, Active Directory.
Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP, IP, and OSI models.
CompTIAA+, Microsoft, or Network+ certification.
