We are looking for an IT Engineer to be responsible for onsite IT support, including building, maintaining, and supporting all aspects of IT systems and IT infrastructure at the smelter. Reporting to the Superintendent IST for NZAS and working in a challenging and exciting environment within NZAS IS&T Systems division you will be: Assisting with design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, facilities, and associated components.Monitoring and managing the performance, availability, and security of IT infrastructure to ensure safe, smooth and stable operations.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies and improvements.Administering and supporting operating systems, databases, and applications used within the smelter.Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral devices.Ensuring network security and implement appropriate measures to protect against cyber threats.Implementing and enforcing security measures to protect systems and data.Maintaining the local area networks at our NZ sites.Support and development where applicable of small in house applications built on Microsoft stacks (C#, .Net)What you'll bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and your teamBachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is desirableProven experience as an IT Engineer in a similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as network administration, server management, system administration, and cybersecurity.Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), databases (SQL, Oracle), and network protocols.Familiarity with virtualization technologies, cloud computing, and data center operations.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.In addition to core IT Engineering skills, specialisation in one or more key technical areas – Networks, Servers and Storage, Cybersecurity, Application developmentWhat we offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you've helped the world progress.
