Irata Rope Access Technicians (Levels 1, 2, Or 3)

IRATA Rope Access Technicians (Levels 1, 2, or 3) Heads Up Access (HUA), New Zealand's leading IRATA member company, is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from South Island-based IRATA-qualified Rope Access Technicians to support a wide range of specialised projects across the region. With a strong pipeline of work extending well into 2025, this is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team with expertise in complex geotechnical and structural projects based out of Christchurch and Queenstown.
Requirements:
IRATA Qualification: Valid Level 1, 2, or 3 certification
Mobility: Willingness to travel across the South Island for site-based projects
Communication: Strong communication skills, especially for team coordination in challenging environments
Experience in: Geotechnical work, rockfall mitigation, meshing and anchoring, structural rigging, slope stability, slip remediation, infrastructure drilling, and bridge maintenance
Eligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand; some sites may require a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Primary Responsibilities:
Geotechnical & Slope Remediation: Execute complex geotechnical tasks, including rock scaling, slope stabilization, and slip remediation, with a focus on safety and precision.
Rockfall Mitigation: Install rockfall protection systems, such as rockfall mesh and barriers, in line with HUA's established best practices and safety protocols.
Drilling & Anchoring: Operate and maintain infrastructure drilling equipment, including the Ripamonti MPL-022 rope-access-based drill, and conduct anchoring operations.
Grout Plant Operations: Run grout plant systems, ensuring correct mix ratios and thorough QA adherence in challenging site conditions.
Structural Maintenance & Rigging: Perform structural rigging, bridge maintenance, and assembly tasks, interpreting structural drawings to meet project specifications accurately.
Environmental & Infrastructure Safety: Work in diverse and sensitive environments, such as roadways, tunnels, and high-risk infrastructure sites, where environmental and safety compliance is critical.
