About the opportunity | Mo tenei turanga Advance Innovation. Strengthen Strategy. Drive Success. Join Fonterra's IP Asset Strategy team as our IP Portfolio Senior Advisor. This is your opportunity to play a crucial role in managing Fonterra's intellectual property activities, ensuring that we unlock value while mitigating risks. From creation to commercialisation, your work will directly influence the success of Fonterra's innovations worldwide.
Your key accountabilities include:
Collaborate with innovators across Fonterra to identify, capture, and protect potential new IP, ensuring it's managed effectively throughout its lifecycle.Provide insights on third-party IP activity and strategic advice to support business decision-making.Assist in developing robust IP strategies tailored to Fonterra's product categories, aligning them with business objectives.Support IP co-development efforts, including due diligence and legal framework development for collaborations.Monitor third-party IP activity, assess infringement risks, and provide strategic guidance on oppositions and challenges.Contribute to developing and maintaining IP governance policies, ensuring they remain relevant and well-communicated.To note, we are open to an Auckland, Palmerston North or Wellington location. Skills & Qualities that will help you succeed:
Registered patent attorney qualification or equivalent, with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience.A tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific discipline such as dairy science, food science, biotechnology, or chemistry.A strategic mindset with growing expertise in IP strategy and commercialisation.Strong skills in patent drafting, prosecution, and trade secrets management.A collaborative approach, with the ability to clearly communicate complex IP topics to a diverse range of stakeholders.Curiosity, adaptability, and a global perspective to drive results in a dynamic environment.Are you excited about this opportunity but may only meet some requirements?
