About the opportunity | Mo tenei turanga Join Fonterra's IP Asset Strategy team as our IP Commercialisation Senior Advisor. In this role, you will provide crucial support across our Co-operative, partnering with teams that develop and commercialise IP to shape strategic advice and drive operational excellence. From guiding collaborative initiatives to streamlining IP commercialisation efforts, you'll play a pivotal role in unlocking the potential of Fonterra's intellectual assets.
Your key accountabilities include:
Provide strategic IP intelligence by supporting the development of IP strategies for categories and products, and ensuring these strategies are well-socialised with stakeholders.Develop frameworks for external collaborations, assisting with the negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of licensing agreements and IP co-development ventures.Support due diligence efforts for investments, purchases, or M&A activities, ensuring our IP assets are strategically aligned and risk is managed.Contribute to a robust IP commercialisation pipeline, assisting with valuations, financial structuring, and guiding in-market teams on engaging with customers.Help maintain a strong IP governance framework, supporting the development and implementation of policies, standards, and procedures.To note, we are open to an Auckland, Palmerston North or Wellington location. Skills & Qualities that will help you succeed: A tertiary qualification in law, business, or a relevant scientific discipline such as dairy science, food science, biotechnology, or chemistry.Knowledge of IP commercialisation strategies, with experience in framing commercial terms and managing trade secrets, patents, and licensing agreements.Strong understanding of patent processes, claim scope, and enforcement considerations.Exceptional communication and presentation skills to articulate complex IP topics effectively to stakeholders.A strategic mindset, coupled with a collaborative approach to drive engagement and instil trust within teams and partnerships.The ability to adapt to ambiguity, operate with a global perspective, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.Are you excited about this opportunity but may only meet some requirements?
