Head of Department Inwards Goods MEGA Mitre 10 HornbyMEGA Hornby is a family-owned Christchurch business, with a vision to provide outstanding customer service, great quality products, and the best value and expertise to enable our customers to have a great experience.The Inwards Goods Head of Department role is a key role within our store, requiring an experienced, organised, quick-thinking, and capable person to work within our Inwards Goods Department. This position is full-on and requires someone who rolls up their sleeves and is very hands-on with their team, has proven supervisory experience in a big box warehousing environment, and the ability to make concise quick decisions at any moment.The Role:Lead business and process improvements in the Inwards Goods department.Supervise day-to-day operations ensuring consistent and accurate processing of and the timely receipt of inbound inventory.Involved in the development and implementation of improved policies and procedures.Maintain a high standard of health and safety and facilitate training and development to ensure standards are met and exceeded.Work with an experienced team and support the Operations Manager to implement new ideas and modify existing practices or champion your own ideas around process improvements.About You:Highly self-motivated and customer-focused with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding operational goals and KPIs.3-4 years of experience in people management with the ability to engage teams for continual improvement through a hands-on approach.Strong ability to build collaborative partnerships internally and externally.Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in a warehousing environment; ideally possess a current forklift license.Ability to identify opportunities and continually seek efficiencies or improvements in existing processes and work methodologies.Proven knowledge of inwards and outward goods in a similar large environment.Logistics experience, with insight into planning and implementing efficient systems to get goods from point of origin to store, is a real asset.If you are a high-performing operational specialist who wants to test your skills, this role is for you!If you are looking for an opportunity and a company that can provide you with an exciting future, then you should consider getting in touch.The successful candidate will be joining a store with big plans and a clear strategy; if your goal is to continue to grow your career, then this is the role for you.If interested in moving your career ahead, please forward your cover letter and CV via this website.
