True South Seafood – Warkworth, North Island Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Inward Goods and Storeperson to join our team at our Warkworth Factory. In this role, you will be responsible for controlling stock, ensuring proper product handling, and supporting the factory manager in daily operations. Your expertise will play a crucial part in maintaining our high standards of quality and safety. Permanent full time role - min 30 hours per week. Monday - Friday approx. 6am - 2.30pm (weekend work may be required from time to time) Key Responsibilities: Stock Control: Manage and store products in consultation with the factory manager to ensure effective stock rotation. Liaison: Communicate daily with the factory manager regarding oyster deliveries and processing requirements. Forklift Operations: Safely operate forklifts, conducting daily safety checks to ensure optimal functioning. Record Keeping: Accurately record harvest declaration information, including growing areas, leases, harvest dates, and batch numbers. Cold Chain Management: Monitor and manage freezers to maintain required product temperatures and ensure adherence to cold chain principles. Receiving Products: Receive finished products for freezing, ensuring proper identification and labeling with pallet cards. Batch Information: Ensure accurate transfer of batch information. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety procedures, including wearing approved protective clothing and ensuring proper chemical handling. Manage faulty equipment and maintenance requests. Cleaning and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in cold stores, packing areas, and other workspaces. Inventory Management: Conduct daily and weekly yard checks, regular stock takes, and inspect incoming goods. Documentation: Lodge all receival documentation and report low stock supplies to the factory manager. Health and Safety: Promote a safe working environment by reporting hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly. Carry out additional reasonable tasks as assigned by management to support factory and farm operations, which may include some Farm Hand duties during the off-season. Qualifications: Minimum of 12 months of experience in a store person role, preferably in the seafood sector. Valid forklift license is mandatory. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Commitment to health and safety standards.
