During normal hours, this is managed by the Coordinator of Interpreters with the assistance of a part-time Interpreters Facilitator. Oversight of the processes for the out of hour service is also the responsibility of this role. You will be located with the Customer Services Team and provide the essential service of booking interpreters to support patients and clinical staff to ensure the best possible communication in clinical situations across the Waitaha Canterbury as required.As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement, this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4A.In this role, you will be responsible for:Assisting and supporting the Coordinator of the Interpreter Services, Waitaha Canterbury, with the day-to-day management for the provision of an efficient, effective patient-focused interpreter service.High-quality professional front desk coordination of drop-ins, email, and telephone for the Interpreter Service and to the wider Customer Service Offices.Experience in working with the public and Health NZ staff from a service perspective.Confidence and awareness for working with people of differing cultures.Ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work unsupervised.Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and calmly in a busy workplace and under pressure.Self-motivated and ability to contribute to and accommodate change."Ko ngatangata, te matua mahi - Putting people at the heart of all we do"We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles by ensuring our partnership with Maori are at the forefront of all our conversations.
