Riccarton High School is seeking a self-motivated and highly organised staff member to join our international department.
The International Student Administrator role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our international students. You will be the first point of contact for our students, providing them with the guidance and support they need to succeed. You will also support the international department with its administrative duties and financial reporting.
This is a permanent, year-round position, working 30 hours per week, predominantly during school hours.
What you'll be doing: Greeting and welcoming students and visitors to the international department with a friendly and professional approach, ensuring a warm and positive first impression. Responsible for the financial administration of the department; receipting international student payments, student refunds, financial reconciliation. Co-ordination of international student activities, events and tours. Support with international orientations and new arrivals. Assistance with student Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) submission. Managing the international student loan uniform system. Maintaining a tidy and welcoming office environment for both students and staff. Assisting students with administrative needs, including student payments and visa documentation. Assisting international students with their documentation and records, including certificates, surveys, mailing lists, ensuring accuracy and timely updates. Assisting with the input of new data into e-School and Kamar student management systems, and the ongoing maintenance of contact details. Communicating with students and staff regarding absences, class updates, and other relevant matters. Performing additional administrative tasks as needed to ensure the office runs smoothly. Participating in professional development and training activities when appropriate. What Riccarton High School would expect from you: Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive. Confident and familiar with office administration and financial support. Ability to welcome and empathise with teenagers. Ability to work in a busy school environment and handle interruptions with a positive attitude. Full driver's licence with the ability to drive school minivans (manual and automatic). Ability to work independently, problem solve and use good judgement. Willingness to build strong relationships with the wider Riccarton High School staff and school community. The following would be desirable, but not required, skills: Ability to speak another language (Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese or Korean). Ability to use e-School and Kamar software would be preferred but these skills can be taught. Experience working in the international education industry and/or a school environment. Remuneration will be $54,490 per annum for 30 hours per week (grade 4, step 12 of the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement).
