Our International Office is responsible for leading the University's internationalisation activities, including international student recruitment, profile and reputation-building activities, international partnership development, transnational education, and global mobility programmes.
The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi As the International Marketing Lead , you will lead brand creation and growth initiatives, championing innovative initiatives that elevate brand presence and drive impactful campaigns.
This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, customer insights, and creative storytelling to craft compelling narratives that resonate with our diverse audiences.
You will drive our international marketing activities with the support of your team of four marketing specialists to achieve our brand, recruitment, diversification, and wider internationalisation goals.
You will be tasked with increasing brand awareness, quality lead generation and meaningful engagement to support international student recruitment via direct channels (B2C) and through our agents, institutional partners, etc (B2B).
You'll make use of automation tools with support from subject matter experts across the team and wider university, and interpret data, to understand customer behaviours and journeys to create amazing customer experiences.
The International Office contributes to how the University articulates, executes, and maintains its international ambitions and aims to significantly impact the global higher education landscape to further the University's interests in teaching, research and outreach for the benefit of all our communities.
You will manage a team of four marketing professionals and work closely with external marketing agencies, other marketing teams and senior stakeholders from across the University.
This is a position that requires someone who enjoys the energy of a busy team with a large variety of stakeholders and responsibilities.
No two days are alike, and as we look to operationalise our new internationalisation framework, there is much to do.
While the team does operate more like an in-house agency, you will also oversee a diverse range of external agencies, ensuring that all initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively, achieving our goals.
You will be accountable for crafting compelling creative briefs across all channels.
Your guidance will ensure that our concepts are on-brand, messages are clear, and customer journeys are seamless and engaging.
Continuously enhance our ways of working by streamlining processes and fostering collaboration between external and internal stakeholders to provide marketing thought leadership and deliver service excellence.
We are seeking | E rapua ana matou Relevant marketing experience, preferably working with international markets.
Demonstrable digital and content marketing experience.
Financial management skills including budgeting and optimisation.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and supervision to motivate, develop, empower, and coach staff to excellence in work performance, client service and the achievement of international marketing goals.
Comfortable with many things on the go and driven by making a positive impact, you demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.
Experience in developing and executing marketing plans over a 1–3-year horizon.
Experience managing external agencies and briefing creative teams.
Experience leveraging customer insights to derive a plan and inform activities.
A demonstrated ability to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of team across a complex matrix operating model.
Project management & agile mindset/experience an advantage.
Tertiary qualification, preferably in marketing or relevant equivalent experience.
