We deliver a wide range of services to farmers, local and regional governments, industry organisations and agribusiness firms throughout New Zealand and overseas. We empower our clients to position themselves for the future using practical and creative solutions and processes.The company has three divisions one of which is the International Division which has managed international development projects in Asia, the Pacific Islands and Latin America. Post covid it has slowly rebuilt this Division and currently has projects in Asia and the Pacific. The Directors of The AgriBusiness Group are keen to once again expand the scope of this international work and are searching for a candidate who can lead this initiative.Position Overview:The Manager will be responsible for leading and managing agricultural development projects across multiple countries, focusing on improving agricultural productivity, sustainability, and community welfare. This role involves collaborating with funding agencies, governments, NGOs, local communities, and other stakeholders to design and implement effective agricultural development strategies and programs.Key Responsibilities:Project Management:Develop, implement, and oversee agricultural development projects in various international locations.Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project completion.Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks.Stakeholder Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with international, national, and local stakeholders, including funding and government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to align project goals and expectations.Conduct needs assessments and research to identify key areas for agricultural development.Develop strategic plans and initiatives to address agricultural challenges and opportunities in target regions.Capacity Building:Provide technical assistance and training to local farmers, agricultural organizations, and government agencies.Support the development of local agricultural expertise and infrastructure.Monitoring and Evaluation:Implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of agricultural projects.Prepare and present reports on project outcomes, challenges, and successes to stakeholders.Policy and Advocacy:Advocate for policies and practices that support sustainable agricultural development and food security.Stay informed about international agricultural trends, policies, and best practices.Identify and pursue funding opportunities from donors, grants, and other sources to support project initiatives.Prepare proposals and reports for funding organizations and partners.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science, International Development, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in agricultural development, project management, or a related area, with a focus on international contexts.Strong understanding of agricultural practices, sustainability issues, and development challenges in different regions.Excellent project management skills, including budget management, resource allocation, and risk management.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools).Experience in fundraising and proposal writing is an advantage.Willingness to travel frequently to project sites in different countries.Personal Attributes:Passionate about agricultural development and improving global food security.Culturally sensitive and adaptable, with the ability to work in diverse and challenging environments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing issues.Application Instructions:To apply for this position, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and interest in the role to ******
