Our client is a well-established consultancy with over 40 years of experience in the industry.
Due to their continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced intermediate structural engineer to join their Hastings office on a permanent basis.
Position Overview: You will be involved in a wide scope of works, designing anything from small domestic structures to multi-storey commercial buildings, and large industrial projects.
Alongside this, you will take part in both seismic strengthening and assessments and help lead and guide small teams to deliver on projects.
Key Responsibilities: Design and analyse structural systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with NZ standards, codes, and legislation.
Work collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective engineering solutions.
Lead and manage project teams, guiding engineering and drafting staff through all project phases, from preliminary design to construction monitoring.
Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and documentation, maintaining high standards of clarity and professionalism.
Foster positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members through excellent interpersonal communication.
Qualifications: A degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Washington Accord) CPEng or actively pursuing your certification 3-5+ years of NZ based consulting experience, ideally with a background in commercial projects Strong knowledge of New Zealand standards, codes, and legislation relevant to structural engineering.
Experience in seismic design, including detailed seismic assessments (DSAs) and strengthening projects.
Proficient in structural analysis software, particularly ETABS.
Demonstrated mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and support junior engineers.
Proven ability to manage structural engineering project teams effectively.
