They manage a variety of community services from water and waste management to community safety and local infrastructure advancement.The RoleAs a Senior or Intermediate Consents Planner, your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of this district. You'll be tasked with managing diverse consent applications, ensuring District Plan compliance, and contributing to the sustainable development of the community. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering an integrated and customer-focused response to a broad spectrum of planning and resource management consent functions, including the review of consent recommendations and provision of technical support.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess and process complex resource consent applications in accordance with the Resource Management Act (RMA), local plans, and council policies.Provide expert advice to applicants, the community, and council staff on consent-related matters.Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable development practices.Lead projects aimed at improving the consent process and contributing to policy development.Advocate for the use of technology and innovative practices in environmental management.About YouBachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years ( or 3 years for an intermediate) experience in a similar role, preferably in a local government setting.Comprehensive understanding of the RMA and experience in resource consent processing.Demonstrable knowledge of water and wastewater systems, asset management, and sustainable development practices.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Passionate about leveraging technology and innovation to enhance efficiency and sustainability.**This role offers a 1-2 day a week work from home flexibility to local candidates**How to ApplyIf you are passionate about sustainable development and looking for an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant community, we would love to hear from you.If this sounds like the role for you then apply now!
