Our Capital Projects team delivers one of New Zealand's largest and most diverse capital programs with hundreds of projects delivered each year. Working alongside some of New Zealand's smartest and reliable companies the team delivers end to end projects across dairy manufacturing, logistics, energy, water and wastewater, buildings, and asset care. With investment value from one hundred thousand to one hundred million there is opportunity abound for all project professionals to deliver value for our Cooperative.
About the opportunity | Te whai waahi
As our Integrated Planning & Cost Manager, you will lead the integrated planning function of our capital portfolio, ensuring efficient optimisation and allocation of resources, engagements, and timing of projects to meet our operational and strategic goals.
Your key accountabilities include:
Portfolio strategy and planning
Collaborating with Heads of Portfolio to translate COO capital strategy into a prioritised and financially feasible plan for capital projects across a multi-year timeframe informing resource and procurement tactics.
Cost allocation and management
Enhance the cost estimation methodology: Establish a clear and consistent approach for estimating dairy and infrastructure project costs across different WBS, categories, and regions. Own the group interface with QS partners.
Project integration and coordination
Develop and manage integrated portfolio and key project schedules by coordinating project timelines across Capital Projects, ensuring dependencies are considered and resources are allocated effectively.
Facilitate & foster communication and collaboration between different parties involved in capital projects (i.e. engineering, procurement, construction, commercial).
Rigorous testing of value for CoOp and key interface management with level 3 assurance.
Manage project risks and dependencies by identifying potential project risks and dependencies, developing mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.
Project Finance
Overall project accounting standards and applications.
Support for project cash forecasting and accrual. Pre-Capex compliance. Management of capitalisation. Financial interface and support and link into Ari data fields and reporting.
About you | Moe koe
You hold an Engineering degree and/or Project Management qualifications, with additional finance qualifications or Quantity Surveying (QS) capabilities being highly regarded. You bring significant experience in senior project management or commercial roles related to project management, with a proven track record in financial modelling, cost management, and data analysis for major capital projects, ideally within a large asset-owning organization.
Other skills include:
Strong influential skills across diverse stakeholders.
Cost allocation and management methodologies, budget tracking and cost benefit analysis.
Major capital project management experience.
