We are looking for 2 X Assistant Insulation Installers to take on our work as we are expanding our horizon and taking additional jobs to scale up.
The right individual will assist the head installer or work independently to perform the following tasks:
Install ceiling, underfloor, and wall insulation to NZS4246 standards for an expanding number of new build and retrofit customers.
Carry out pre-installation checks to determine which methods and materials to use.
Produce a written report or quote for customers with supervisor approval.
Calculate the volume of space to be filled and the amount of insulation needed.
Install the appropriate insulation in the required areas.
Apply insulating materials, such as batts and blankets, to walls, floors, windows, and ceilings of buildings to insulate against heat, cold, air, and moisture.
Ensure that the materials and methods used meet building regulations.
Analyze insulation sites by examining plans, specifications, and work sites to determine the type and quality of installations required.
Execute pre-installation tasks such as nailing up, drilling holes, erecting scaffolding, and ladders.
Operate insulation equipment to blow and spray mineral wool, fiber fill, and foam insulation material into cavities.
Cut insulation material to size and shape, and nail and staple batt-type insulation to joists, studs, and furring.
Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors.
Remove or seal off old asbestos insulation, following safety procedures.
Fit insulation around obstructions and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.
Install insulation in equipment or structures.
Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed and methods of installation based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use.
Perform other tasks as required.
Skills required to be successful in this role:
Be physically fit and healthy.
Have some experience or the ability to learn new things.
If you require visa support, you need to have 3 years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor's level degree. We will only support a tight candidate if we are unable to find a New Zealander.
Must have a clean criminal history.
Must have a NZ Driving License or equivalent overseas.
Be willing to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
Be available on weekends.
Have excellent communication skills.
Be fit to work in tight spaces.
Be well organized with good time management.

Hours per week: Min 30 to max 50 hours
Workdays: Monday to Saturday
Wages: $30 to $35 per hour based on work experience and skills
