Job Description The position of Inspector / Verifier is a key operational role within the Napier Branch.
Key Responsibilities: Assisting with commercial inspections, verifying, and surveying in the Hawkes Bay region.
Ensure that all tasks undertaken are performed in a truly professional manner so that the integrity of SGS is not compromised in any way.
Conducting document verification to assist with phytosanitary certificate issuance.
Undertaking phytosanitary inspections of fresh and processed produce for export.
Undertaking inspection, verification, and audit activities in accordance with MPI, global and local program and procedural requirements.
Performing other work requests relevant to your experience and/or qualifications as requested.
Always acting with integrity, freedom from influence, in the best interests of SGS and in accordance with the SGS Code of Integrity.
Qualifications Industry background and tertiary qualifications in Agriculture or Horticulture.
Agricultural inspection/verification and/or audit experience would be advantageous; however, on-the-job training will be offered to the right candidate.
Ability to read, understand, and put into practice all quality assurance procedures necessary to complete assigned tasks.
Demonstrated excellence in communication, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficient report writing and computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as simple database management.
Current and full New Zealand driver's license.
